Zeon to reinforce supply system for high-grade S-SBR for fuel-efficient tires

Zeon installs a new equipment at its S-SBR plant in Singapore to enable the production of the latest generation and the most advanced technology of Solution Styrene Butadiene Rubber (S-SBR) and Lithium catalyzed Butadiene Rubber (Li-BR). The construction of this grade- upgrading project has been completed and entering the test phase. The full commercial run is planned for 2026.

This project reinforces Zeon’s dual-site supply system consisting of the Singapore and Tokuyama (Japan) plants to secure our customers’ business continuity. Furthermore it supports Zeon‘s target to increase steadily the share of new generation S-SBR products. S-SBR and Li-BR are the essential components for ultra high performance tires, contributing to the modern eco tire properties balance: fuel efficiency through low rolling resistance; best wet, snow and dry grip; optimum wear and durability; as well as low noise.
